Challenge Dresses

Thank you to all the ladies that sent in dresses to our PINK Challenge… we had dresses from our state furthest west… Hawaii and all the way to the east coast… North Carolina… South West states...California and Arizona… The South...Alabama and of course the Pacific Northwest…Washington  Thank you to all the wonderful sewers that participated!!

There are going to be sew many little girls in Uganda with very big smiles!!

I am hoping to be able to go to Uganda for the well dedication and personally deliver your dresses!!

Mad as A March Hare

I have been told that I am crazy and I know that I am crazy for Dress A Girl sew I think we will combine those two things for March... Mad (as in crazy, fun, balmy, wild and passionate because if someone mentions you are Mad as a March Hare, what they mean is you are out of your mind.  In other words your behavior is unlike your usual demeanor.)  Sew lets be Mad as a March Hare for Girls... let's make fun and wild dresses in the month of March... be creative and get your wild side on... who can fine the wildest fun fabric and combine those accents in unusual ways... 

Here are my first wild dresses... hope you like the combinations...

And there will be three winners... each will receive a wild tote!!

You have from March 1 until March 24th to make your dresses.  

They must be postmarked or hand delivered to me by March 24th

I hope to take some of these dresses with me on a trip!

This is also a fundraiser!!

I am going on a HOPE 4 KIDS trip this year. 

And need your help with funding...

Please include a donation with the submission of your dress.  It is up to you how much you would like to donate but the cost of the trip will be between $2000.00  and $3500.00

Heart 4 Girls

We are doing a Contest/Giveaway called a Heart 4 Girls... if you have a heart for girls then this is for you.  I have had some questions so thought I would answer them all together.  Once you make your dress just send me an email and I will tell you where to send them.  My email is suzannesewdelightful@gmail.com  The dresses can be any size but we always seem to need size 8 and 10 the most.  Here is a link to the basic guidelines http://sewdelightful.blogspot.com/2012/07/tips-and-guidelines.html  If you need the pattern send me an email and I will send you a link to Dropbox and you can download it from there.  The dresses do not have to be the basic sundress style.  They can be any style of dress but please make them out of 100% cotton.  Most of our dresses go to tropical climates so rayons and polyesters do not work well.

I love vintage and hearts and everything this Contest/Giveaway is about so I have been sewing heart dresses even though I will not be entering.  Here is my latest creative.

I have already received three dresses for this event!!  And they are sew cute!!  I have also received pictures of dresses that are coming!!  And I heard from one sewing group that is going to make Heart dresses on Wednesday at their sewing time!!  I am excited to get all of your dresses!!  If you are mailing your dresses they must be postmarked by February 14th (Heart Day).  If you are bringing them to me, they must be here by February 14th.  Happy sewing and thanks to all the have a HEART 4 GIRLS!!

A Heart for Girls' Contest!!

I believe that we should start the New Year off with a contest!!  We all know that February is the month of Love, Hearts and Romance.  And I also know that many of you have a heart for children... for the little girls around the world that may never have a new dress unless you make it...

So lets combine hearts and dresses... for this contest you need to make a dress with at least one heart on it... it could be heart fabric or a heart pocket or maybe heart buttons... be creative.  You have until Heart Day, February 14th to mail your dress to me or give me your dress.  I will keep the dresses and they will go out with an organization delivering dresses to girls in need.  I will post pictures of all the heart dresses and the winner or winners will be chosen at random.  If we have 10 entries there will be 1 winner... if we have 20 entries there will be 2 winners and so on.

Winners

All of the ladies that entered the Pieces of Love Contest made gorgeous dresses.  There was sew much work and love displayed in all of the dresses!!  And I believe every dress entered was a winner!!  After going through the votes and removing anonymous votes with no links or names attached and double votes we came up with a tie between two wonderful dresses.  These dresses are completely different and both are so beautiful!!  Congratulations to Barbara and Tonya!!

What an Exciting Time

This is such a wonderful time...

We have donations coming in...

We have dresses being made...

We have dresses going out (102 yesterday to Cambodia and over 100 on Saturday to Sierra Leone)

And we have received quite a few pictures this week of dresses being received!!!
