Today I received an email from Sally saying that she has 21 dresses all ready.

And a few days ago I received a call from Sally and here is what she brought...

We want to show these girls that they have worth and that someone cares!!

91 Young

Recently dresses when to an orphanage in Mexico and we just received pictures of the girls in their dresses

They are sew beautiful!!!

Would you like to impact the lives of young girls and show them that you care about them and that they have worth?  You could sew and I will teach you about the pattern.  I will even give you pillowcases and fabric and laces... everything you need to make the dresses.  Or you could donate some of these items.  

I recently met a wonderful 91 year old lady... her friends call her Amazing Grace

She is responsible for introducing me to Lynn and the result is over 100 dresses going to Sierra Leone

she has introduced me to Judy and the result is dresses going to Ethiopia!!!

And she is still working for us!!

Summer Camp

This summer 137 young women between the ages of 12 and 18 attended a camp in Puyallup.  They decided to do a service project in their sewing class and sewed dresses for little girls in need.  These enthusiastic young women began their sewing...

And they made 178 dress and 150 prayer dolls!!!

There will be so many girls in need with beautiful smiles because of these caring young ladies!!!

Love E-mails

Recently I have been receiving some wonderful e-mails.  There were three yesterday from new ladies wanting to become involved in sewing for little girls.  And a couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail with this picture

How encouraging to hear from Loretta, a local sewer that has been making dresses and has 25 dresses all ready to bring to my house!!   This project is growing and growing!  Would you like to become involved... just e-mail me at suzannesewdelightful@gmail.com and I will help you!!  I hope to hear from you very soon!!

We have sew many people to thank!!

Daily I am amazed by the generosity of so many people.  Once they hear about helping these little girls in need they are excited to help.  I have met people at garage sales, ladies in line at the fabric store, vendors at the Sewing Expo, Polyvore ladies, friends, businesses, and relatives... all wanting to help.  One person will give money, another will post a picture and spread the word about the campaign, another will collect pillowcases, another will sew, another will donate fabric, and another will support me with comfort when the road gets tough.  In a world where there is so much hate and violence, we are all working together to change the lives of these little ones. We pray for them and we tell we love them by using our gifts and talents.  We recycle in the most wonderful way... making that gently used pillowcase in a new creation.  We built friendships with each other.  I do not believe that I have ever seen a project that is sew logical or one that does so much with so little!!

New Sewing Groups in Washington

We have a new group in Graham and one forming in Arlington... so if you live in either of these areas let me know and I will get you in touch with these groups.  I am sure that they would love to have you help them.  We also have a group that will be starting... hopefully in September in Woodinville.  If you would like to start a sewing group or have a one time event please let me know and I will help you get organized!  Or if you have fabric, pillowcases, sheets, lace or elastic that you would like to donate o the Dress A Girl campaign we are always grateful for those items.  Don't forget that we have a group that meets regularly in South Bellevue on Wednesdays.  Another group meets east of Redmond on Fridays.  I am also willing to sew by appointment at my house anytime!!

When you look at this picture what do you see?

I see a little one that now knows she is loved and cared for by someone far away!!  

She has dignity and worth and beauty!!

She has been prayed for and sewn for!!

When you see her does she move you to action?

A Little Story

I hear so many special stories from the people that are delivering dresses.  This one touched me so much.

Isn't she adorable!!!  When the group went to her village in the Dominican Republic she was walking around in just underwear.  And now she has a new dress!  Thank you to all the ladies that are sewing and helped make this happen.  But there are still other little ones out there waiting.  We need to keep sewing and sewing and sewing some more!!

Dresses Delivered

In January the Allen's took dresses when they returned to Zambia.  They have been delivered to an orphanage and the girls there had run out of clothing.

There are so many stories about the forgotten little ones in our world.  Each time dresses are delivered it melts my heart and encourages me to sew more.  I wish I had the words to touch your heart and encourage you to become involved.  We can use fabric, elastic, trims and pillowcases.  We need sewers, cutter and ironers.  We could use people who are willing to go and ask for donations.  In short,  we could use you!!  Please consider helping the little ones of our world.  Just send me an e-mail at suzannesewdelightful@gmail.com and I will get you connected!!
