Feminine Hygiene Kit Sewing Bee

We have a pattern for making feminine hygiene kits.  Girls lose an average of 25% of their school time if they do not have a way to deal with their periods.  Here is a link to our pattern including a multiple sized pantie

While in Uganda we did a workshop for some of the ladies so that they could make these for personal use and also as a business.  There were 22 ladies that wanted to learn how to make the kits.  A special thank you to Rose Anne.  She was our model for the pantie and also taught the ladies about how to use and clean the pads!!

The ladies arrived before we did.

Lots of people helped cut items so each attendee received a kit ready to sew.

Our model and hygiene teacher… Rose Anne.

I had the privilege to teach the sewing of the kits

The sewers with their treadle machines.

The ladies had so many questions and were excited about sewing these kits.
It was amazing to see their response!!
