Bargain Materials

Garage Sale Season is over here in Washington and that is where I get a lot of materials for making dresses at very reasonable prices.  Now I am looking for new bargains!!  Just last week I was in Ross Dress for Less and I decided to look at their sheets to see if there were any bargains... and yes there were.  They had a full sized sheet set for $9.99.  So I stood there trying to figure out how many dresses I could get out of that material.  I decided to buy it and yes it was definitely a bargain and a big plus it was new material.

$9.99 + 3 donated pillowcases + trims + 1 week of sewing = 17 dresses

Pockets are Sew much Fun!!

So yesterday I was at TJ Maxx and I decided to try the clearance section there...

My next dresses will be out of this!!

I do love a bargain...especially when it helps a little one in need.
You can help too!!
Sewing
Donating your bargains
Coming to a sewing group and cutting or ironing or packaging dresses

Those pockets remind me- my Sunday school class has been after me to make prayer dolls for the pockets of the dresses and this weeks lesson suggested a simple project of some sort that would show kindness to others. My 4 girls have each started a "pioneer style" rag doll and ought to finish on the 4th of Dec. I think we will get a few more done here at home that with a few more cases friends have given and the sunday school dolls we ought to be sending a box mid dec. Such fun! Alice and the girls
